Since the song was a D. Boon composition, all the royalties went right to Boon's father, who was suffering from emphesema; Mike Watt simply calls this a way for D. Boon to help his pop from beyond the grave. The sacredness score was derived from the fact that Love Dance, an instrumental, is one of the more lighthearted tunes on their seminal "Double Nickels On The Dime" album.
