Geraldine Ferraro responded to criticisms of her comments of Barack Obama this morning on ABC's "Good Morning America" and CBS's "The Early Show," refusing to apologize for what she said about Barack Obama's candidacy.
Ferraro recently told the Daily Breeze of Torrance, Calif. that if Obama were "a white man, he would not be in this position. And if he was a woman, he would not be in this position. He happens to be very lucky to be who he is. And the country is caught up in the concept."
Today Ferraro told ABC she was "absolutely not" sorry for what she said.
On CBS, she called out Obama adviser David Axelrod, who Ferraro says has asked her in the past to support other minority candidates he's worked for, including New York City mayoral candidate Fernando Ferrer, and New York gubernatorial candidate Carl McCall.
"He did it with Bill Clinton, he was successful. He did it with Ed Rendell, he was less successful, and he's certainly not going to be successful with me," Ferraro said of Axelrod.

Earlier in the broadcast, Obama responded to Ferraro's comments:
"Geraldine Ferraro was I think a trailblazer, and I respect her for that. Obviously, I strongly disagree with her comments. I think if you think about the history of this country, the notion that being black American named Barack Obama paves the way for the presidency, doesn't I think ring true with most Americans."

O'Hillary
You don't think Hillary Clinton had anything to do with Northern Ireland's peace process? Well, at least consider this video proof, as provided by the Clinton campaign.
The video includes clips of her speech at the lighting of the Belfast, Northern Ireland, Christmas tree in 1995. It also features clips from a 2007 meeting between Clinton, Ian Paisley, Northern Ireland's first minister, and Martin McGuinness, the deputy first minister. Paisley and McGuinness are former political rivals who now lead a power-sharing government.
Why do this?
First, Pennsylvania has a large Irish-American population. Irish immigrants are credited with the development of Philadelphia, and other corners of the commonwealth.
But most importantly, Clinton frequently cites the Northern Irish peace process as a key piece of her foreign policy experience. Several critics however have raised questions about Clinton's self-described involvement, including former Clinton aide Dick Morris, and The Post's Fact Checker Michael Dobbs.
The length and depth of this video clip is clearly designed to demonstrate Clinton's involvement, and personal concern for the issue. Thoughts?

Fixcam Week in Preview...And Theme Song Finals
Three things to watch this week:
1. Mississippi Primary: Given the Magnolia State's 36 percent black population, Sen. Barack Obama (Ill.) has to be favored in tomorrow's primary. He has dominated southern states so far in the nomination fight thanks in large part to overwhelming support from the African American community -- carrying this voting bloc at an eight- or even nine-to-one clip over Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (N.Y.). Obama's wins in Georgia (28.5 percent black), Alabama (25.9 percent) and South Carolina (29.4 percent) should provide a blueprint for a win in Mississippi. The lone question is how big Obama's margin will be over Clinton and how many more delegates that yields him.
2. The Media and Mr. Obama: The last two weeks have been terrible for Obama. First, the trial of Tony Rezko began, then came Austan Goolsbee and Samantha Power. Obama's campaign has sought to change the subject by calling on the media to look into the continued delay in the release of Clinton's tax returns. Will it work? A third straight week of bad press for Obama will continue to add fuel to the storyline that Clinton is on the ascent. And remember, the uncommitted superdelegates seem content to sit on the sidelines for now. How the media narrative plays out over the next six weeks will certainly influence how they make up their minds.
3. Michigan and Florida: What to do about the delegates of these two states dominated the Sunday shows this weekend. All sides -- Clinton, Obama, state parties and the Democratic National Committee -- seem open to the idea of a re-vote. The rub? Money. The DNC isn't willing to fund do-over primaries since they warned Michigan and Florida of the peril of moving their primary dates forward in the nominating calendar. Neither state party at the moment has the millions required to fund the re-votes on their own. Watch for the proposal put forward by Govs. Ed Rendell (Pa.) and Jon Corzine (N.J.) -- both Clinton supporters -- to raise $15 million for the revotes to get a lot of attention this week.
Also, the first vote on The Fix official theme song produced a deadlock between "The Fix Is In" by OK GO and "November Rain" by Guns N Roses. So, we enter sudden death. Vote between the two below:

Clinton's Last Minute Attempt in Mississippi
Hillary Clinton is making a late run at Barack Obama in Mississippi by way of a TV ad she also aired in Texas. The ad discusses Clinton's plans to create jobs, improve the economy and end "giveaways for corporate special interests."
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ej9wRPEZh60
While Clinton is not expected to win the Magnolia State, the economic themes of the TV ad play into her campaign's last-minute strategy.
"I think it'll be a tighter race, and primarily because the Clintons have worked so hard this last week," says Sid Salter, columnist with The Clarion-Ledger in Jackson, Miss. Salter suggests that several weekend campaign stops by Bill, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton may have helped close the gap among some of the state's Democrats.
"The Clintons have concentrated their efforts in areas of the state where you had blue-collar, rural white populations, and they have strongly contested the support of White Democrats," Salter said. "It's clear to me that the Clintons are not exactly ceding the African-American vote to Obama in Mississippi, but they are concentrating on shoring up their numbers among blue-collar whites."
An ad about "leveling the playing field against the special interests," cutting taxes for working families and investing in job training programs may help close that gap.
(You can hear more from Salter on Tuesday's Post Politics Podcast.)

A Look at Clinton's Surrogates
Make sure you read Peter Baker and Anne E. Kornblut's report in today's Post about the squabbling between advisers to Hillary Clinton.
Baker and Kornblut report that "the internal problems endured by the Clinton team have been especially corrosive."
"They fought over [Mark] Penn's strategy of presenting Clinton as a strong commander in chief rather than trying to humanize her, as aides such as admaker Mandy Grunwald and chief spokesman Howard Wolfson wanted to do. They fought over deployment of assets and dwindling resources, pointing fingers over the failure to field organizations in many states. They fought over how to handle former president Bill Clinton and his habit of drifting away from his talking points into provocative territory."
Here's your chance to see some Clinton surrogates in action.
Mark Penn spoke with washingtonpost.com on April 26, 2007, at the first Democratic presidential debate in Orangeburg, S.C.:

FixCam: Is May 6 the New Super Tuesday?
As The Fix digs out from the Ohio-Texas Two-Step, we've started to look ahead at the votes remaining on the Democratic side between now and the June 7 when the Puerto Rico caucus brings to a close the race for pledged delegates.
All told, there are twelve contests slated between now and then. Ten states will vote as well as Guam and Puerto Rico.
According to our rough back of the envelope calculations (read: do NOT hold us to these), Sen. Barack Obama (Ill.) should be favored in five states -- Wyoming (March 8), Mississippi (March 11), Oregon (May 20), South Dakota (June 3) and Montana (June 3). Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (N.Y.) likely starts with an edge in Pennsylvania (April 22), West Virginia (May 13) and Kentucky (May 20).
Based on those calculations, the two truest tossups remaining between now and June 7 are North Carolina and Indiana -- both of which will hold primaries on May 6. Obama and Clinton are likely to seriously contest each state because, aside from Pennsylvania, they are the biggest delegate prizes left; North Carolina has 115 pledged delegates, while Indiana has 72.
In Indiana, Clinton has the support of home state Sen. Evan Bayh and faces an electorate that looks somewhat like that of Ohio. The state is very white (86 percent, according to the 2000 census) and has a large rural and blue-collar vote -- three constituencies that have been very good for Clinton. Of course, Obama has represented Indiana's next door neighbor in the Senate for the past four years and the state is filled with colleges and universities where Obama should run strongly.
North Carolina -- at first glance -- might tilt toward Obama. More than one in five Tarheels are black, a voting bloc Obama has dominated ever since the South Carolina primary. North Carolina has large rural areas too, however, and the economy (and the impact on free trade agreements on it) seems likely to be a major issue.
So, if you're looking for the next Super Tuesday, May 6 is your best bet. Of course, if past is prologue, May 7 will leave us with more questions than answers.

Two New Clinton Ads on National Security, Economy
On the eve of the Ohio and Texas primaries, Sen. Hillary Clinton is out with two more ads designed to raise "central questions" about who is better prepared to be commander-in-chief, and who is the right person to manage the nation's economy, according to campaign aides.
"True" attacks Sen. Barack Obama's recent admission that he has not held hearings as chairman of a Senate Foreign Relations subcommittee with oversight of NATO operations in Afghanistan.
"He was too busy running for president to hold even one hearing," the announcer says. "Hillary Clinton will never be too busy to defend our national security."
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4l4_jMyV3mY
Meanwhile in Ohio, Clinton is airing "Partner."
"It's time that the American worker had a partner in the White House," Clinton says. "The wealthy and the well-connected have had a president. It's time the middle class had a president to stand up for you."
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=76pMq0Tm8HI
"True" is a follow up to the "3 a.m. phone call/Children" ad released Friday, which campaign aides say has helped give Clinton renewed momentum.
"[The ad] set up a national debate that has raised over the past few days, which I think has raised I think very significant questions both about Senator Obama and also I think put before the voters one of the most central questions that will typically be before the voters in a presidential race," Clinton strategist Mark Penn said in a conference call with reporters Monday. "I think we've seen a tipping point and change in momentum in the past week. I think that momentum is tipping to Senator Clinton," Penn added.
