Joseph Courtney lives in Vernon. He received a bachelor's degree in history from Tufts University in 1975. He earned a law degree from the University of Connecticut in 1978.
He is a partner in the Vernon law firm of Flaherty, Meisler and Courtney.
He served in the Connecticut House of Representatives, 1987-1994.
He is married with two children.
