Mariannette Miller-Meeks was born in Herlong, Calif., and now resides in Ottumwa. He earned a bachelor's at Texas Christian University and a master's in education at University of Southern California.
Miller-Meeks is an ophthalmologist in private practice. She served six years active duty in the Army, and retired in 1998 from the Army Reserves, after serving for 24 years as a lieutenant colonel.
Miller-Meeks and her husband, Jonathan, have two children.
