Born in Beirut, Lebanon, Michael Benjamin Younan's family fled the country because of a civil war and eventually found their way to Chicago when he was 10 months old.
Younan is an Air Force veteran, who during his eight years of service, was stationed at bases in South Korea, Japan, Texas and California, according to his Web site.
He works as a medical practice administrator. He also owns medical supply and pharmaceutical companies, in addition to starting an eye clinic that his wife, Sonya, runs.
He lives in the Chicago suburb of Niles, Ill., with his wife and their three daughters.
