Judith "Judy" Borg Biggert was born and raised in Chicago, and currently lives in the Chicago suburb of Hinsdale.
She headed out West to Stanford University in California when it came time for college. There, she earned a bachelor's degree in international relations in 1959.
After Stanford, it was back to Illinois and law school at Northwestern University, where she graduated in 1963. She started her law career by clerking for a federal appellate court judge.
Biggert ran a real estate law practice from her home while raised her children.
Biggert had years of experience in charities and local government before she got elected in 1992 to the Illinois House, where she served for six years.
In 1998, she was elected to the U.S. House and has been re-elected ever since.
Biggert and her husband, Rody, have four adult children.
