Donald Betts Jr. is a native of Wichita. He earned a bachelor's at Friends University in Wichita and is now pursuing his master's at Friends University.
Betts won a seat in the Kansas House in 2002 and was appointed to the Senate in January 2004 to replace a retiring member. He won a full term later that year.
Betts is a former youth counselor who now runs his own network marketing and consulting firms.
