About The Candidate

Nick Jordan was born in Kansas City, Mo., and now resides in Shawnee.

Jordan began a 40-year career in the tourism industry at age 19 working as a hotel busboy, but he quickly jumped into a hotel management job. He eventually became marketing director for the Grand American Hotel Corp, and later started his own tourism consulting business.

Jordan, along with his wife and daughter, also runs a pottery studio.

Local Republicans appointed Jordan to the state Senate in 1995, to replace a member who had resigned. He was elected to his first full term in 1996, then re-elected in 2000 and 2004.
