Stephen Scalise currently lives in Jefferson, La. He graduated from Louisiana State University with a computer programming degree.
Scalise is a systems engineer who served 12 years as a state legislator.
He was elected to the U.S. House in 2008 after winning a special election on May 3. He filled the seat vacated by former Congressman Bobby Jindal, who was elected Governor of Louisiana.
