John Frary is a native of Farmington. He earned a bachelor's at the Univerity of Maine and a master's at Rutgers University.
Frary is a retired history and political science professor. He taught for 32 years at Middlesex Community College in New Jersey. Since returning to Maine, he has written newspaper columns on public policy issues.
Frary is divorced.
