Jay Stoddard is a lifelong Nebraska resident. He went to high School in Ord and attended college at the University of Nebraska at Kearney. He was an insurance agent with Allstate from 1955 to 2000. He retired, but says he "got bored," and has managed Jay C. Stoddard Enterprises since 2000.
Stoddard is a past member of the Grand Island School Board and past president of the PTA. He served as a Scout Master of Troop 119, a Little League Coach and as a YMCA Basketball Coach.
Stoddard also has volunteered for the Salvation Army, the Red Cross and served as a reader for St. Stephens Episcopal Church Choir.
Stoddard is married to Dorothy and has three children.
