Dave Potter, 46, was born in Kokomo, Ind., and spent his childhood in Indianapolis. He lives in suburban Strongsville, Ohio. He graduated from Ball State University in 1984 with a bachelor's degree in marketing.
Potter has spent 20 years as a sales representative in the medical device industry, working for companies such as Johnson & Johnson, Boston Scientific and Medtronic.
His and his wife, Annette, have a son and two daughters.
