Steve Austria, 49, was born in Cincinnati and lives in Beavercreek, Ohio, a suburb of Dayton. He graduated from Marquette University, worked as a financial adviser, and was elected a state representative in 1998 and a state senator in 2000. He currently serves as majority whip.
Austria and his wife, Eileen, have three sons.
