John Boccieri, 38, was born in Youngstown, Ohio, and lives in New Middletown, Ohio. He received his bachelor's degree from St. Bonaventure University. He earned master's degrees in public administration and business from Webster University in St. Louis.
Boccieri has 11 years of service in the military and is a major in the Air Force Reserve. An aircraft commander aboard the C-130 Hercules, he recently deployed in four rotations in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Boccieri was elected to the Ohio House of Representatives in 2000 and to the state Senate in 2006.
He is married to Stacey Kennedy Boccieri. They have three children.
