Kirk Schuring, 55, was born in and lives in Canton, Ohio. He graduated from Perry High School and attended Kent State University but did not graduate.
Schuring has served in the Ohio Senate since 2003. He was a state representative from 1993 to 2002.
He and his wife, Darlene, have two children.
