John Boehner, one of 12 children born to his Cincinnati family, now lives in West Chester. He graduated from Cincinnati's Moeller High School in 1968 and received a bachelor's degree in business administration from Xavier University in 1977.
Boehner worked for Merrell Dow Pharmaceuticals Inc. as a management trainee. He also worked for Nucite Sales, a company that represents manufacturers in the packaging and plastics industry. He served in the Ohio House, 1984-1990.
He was first elected to the U.S. House in 1990.
Boehner and his wife, Debbie, have two daughters.
