Mike Carroll, 47, was born in Mansfield, Ohio and currently lives there. After graduating from high school, he joined the Ohio Air National Guard and worked a variety of odd jobs.
He has worked for AK Steel for 24 years and is a member of the United Steelworkers.
Carroll is married to Jenny Carroll. He has two adult stepchildren.
