Albert Spencer was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., and now resides in Gaffney. He earned a bachelor's at Slippery Rock State College in 1966, a master's at Clarion University in 1981 and two doctorates at Florida State University in 1985 and 1991.
Spencer is a Limestone College physical education professor who has been involved for years with volunteer and church groups, including the Knights of Columbus, Reading is Fundamental, and Special Olympics.
Spencer and his wife, Sue, have two children.
