Born in Savannah, Ga., and raised in Bluffton, S.C., Bob Inglis is a commercial real estate attorney. He holds a bachelor's degree from Duke University and University of Virginia law degree.
He won the 4th District seat in 1992 on a three-term limit pledge. He won re-election twice, stepping down after the 1998 election.
Inglis won the U.S. House seat again in 2004, but has made no term-limit pledge, saying that type of limit is a mistake.
He and his wife, Mary Anne, have five children.
