Roger Waun, 63, was born in Mount Clemens, Mich. and lives in Wichita Falls. He received a bachelor's degree in 1966 and a master's degree in 1968 from Eastern Michigan University.

Waun did additional graduate study in communications at the University of Pittsburgh, and later attended Pittsburgh Theological Seminary.

In college he worked as a musician with the group "Up With People," and on the stage crew for the "Mr. Roger's Neighborhood."

He served in the U.S. Army Reserves as a strategic intelligence officer for 16 years and held top secret security clearance with active duty tours at the National Security Agency, the Defense Intelligence Agency and the Army's recruiting command.

His business experience includes 15 years in business management, marketing, consulting and training and development experience.

He and his wife own and operate a regional wholesale distributorship business. He is also is pastor at First Presbyterian Churches in Childress and Quanah.

Waun and his wife, Vicki, have five children.
