Bennion Spencer has spent the past 25 years as a television reporter, producer, news director and general manager at stations in Texas and Utah. He has also taught classes at Salt Lake Community College, where he developed broadcasting program for Spanish-speaking students. In 2007, he helped fellow newscaster Dick Nourse establish the Dick Nourse Center for Mass Communications and Journalism at Dixie State College in St. George, Utah. He has also served as the adviser for the Riverton Youth Council.
Spencer and his wife, Malinda, have four children and five grandchildren.
