Bill Dew is a millionaire who made his fortune in the home construction business, which he worked in for 30 years after serving in the Army for nearly a decade. He's also worked with Boy Scouts for 20 years, earning the Silver Beaver award.
This is Dew's first run for office and he has said he's willing to spend substantial amounts of money to unseat popular U.S. Rep. Jim Matheson, a four-term incumbent.
Dew and his wife, Jolene, recently returned to Utah from a two-year humanitarian mission in Jordan for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They have five children.
