Eric Cantor was born in Richland, Va., and lives in Glen Allen. He earned his bachelor's degree from George Washington University, his law degree from the College of William and Mary and a master's degree from Columbia University.
He worked as a lawyer, real estate developer and campaign aide. He served in the Virginia House, 1992-2001.
He and his wife, Diana, have three children.
