Robert "Rick" Bart was born in Sedro-Woolley and now resides in Arlington. He earned an associate's in law enforcement at Shoreline Community College in 1973 and a bachelor's in criminal justice at Seattle University in 1983.
Bart worked in law enforcement for more than 37 years and was Snohomish County Sheriff from 1995 until he retired this year.
Bart is a school volunteer and a Big Brother for Snohomish County Big Brothers and Big Sisters. He and his wife, Wendy, have seven children.
