92253: Registration Issue
When I got to polling location, was not on list. Voting official called registration headquarters and found I was not among the registered even though I have been registered in CA since 2001 and have not moved in past 6 years. Voted in every election since 2001. Read More »
92154: No Voting Issue
Very calm, no crowds or voting issues. Yet walking into the polling place was one of the most profound and significant moments, for me, as a registered American voter. My eyes actually welled-up with tears when I was marking my ballot. Read More »

A good old fashioned vote in Silicon Valley - on *paper* in someone's garage. No silly computerized voting machines. Read More »
94608: No Voting Issue
In anticipation of huge lines, I tried to vote early this past Sunday and Monday in downtown Oakland. There were huge lines with hundreds of people, and I left. I walked into my local voting location tonight in West Oakland at 5:30 PM and had no wait time at all. I like the ritual of voting in person, but I will probably go to a mail-in ballot to save time in the future. Read More »
95660: No Voting Issue
My 8 year old granddaughter wanted to see what a polling place looked like and how voting worked, so I didn't mail my absentee ballot this year. Read More »
94610: Registration Issue
Voted with provisional ballot b/c they could not locate my name. Later returned to polling location. Name found. Should not have had to vote with a provisional ballot. Very upsetting, particularly during such a historic election. Wrote letter to local registrar of voters here in Alameda County. Polling location also not that organized. People sat at tables right next to each other, no privacy. Never seen that before anywhere. I sure do miss DC. Read More »

Everything went smoothly: there were no lines, the volunteers were friendly, and the electronic voting machines caused no problems . . . All in all, a great day! Read More »
94402: No Voting Issue
Voted mid-day. Very smooth and efficient. After registration verification, password issued and voted via very simple electronic device. Only had to dial down to selection and hit enter. At end, displays all selections and asked to cast ballot (confirmation). Can go back at any point. Read More »
95825: Other
Our Sacramento County staff and volunteers do a great job, no matter how crazy the election. Things went as smoothly today as if for some minor community college bond. However, I was really taken aback by campaigners approaching me in the polling place parking lot -- never had that happen before in any election, big or small. There's lots of excitement out here in California! Read More »

94025: Identification Issue
We were 1st in line this morning at our polling site (also the only white folks there, save 1 other). The polled opened a bit late due to the fact that the powers that be sent the wrong password for unlocking the voting machines. Then, we both had to vote provisional ballots as at least the first 7 people in line mysteriously weren't on the voter registry Read More »

92028: Location Issue
I have never spend a minute standing in line at a polling station, but I have voted in every presidential election since I turned 18. I put the absentee envelope in the mailbox and assume it is never counted. It seems a silly ritual, but I am a Florida voter, so I feel compelled to attempt to participate. Read More »

95132: No Voting Issue
I got there a few minutes before opening time 7am and found a short line of around 10 people. The door opened within a few minutes and I only had a short wait. I also saw some people come in with completed ballots and they dropped them off. When I finished, I saw that there was still a line outside, of 10-15 people. Read More »
94115: Voting Glitch
After filling out my touch-screen electronic vote, I could not locate the "submit vote" button. A worker told me I was done and just to walk away from the computer, which I contemplated doing... but ultimately decided to ask another worker, who actually fixed the computer error and submitted my vote. Because the first worker was so adamant about me walking away, I worry how many people actually heeded her advice? Read More »

California Voters Face Few Problems
State: California
California voters faced few problems at the polls today, despite isolated cases of power outages and fear of some ballot shortages in what election officials predict will be a record-breaking turnout. The California secretary of state's office did not receive reports of voting problems besides the power outages in Los Angeles and poll workers who overslept. Record-breaking voter registration pushed officials to add precincts and poll workers and order more ballots to meet the expected demand. ( Read More »
