My experience: A polling official interrupted the process to introduce an elderly African-American woman voting for her first time at age 95. The room exploded into applause. Amazing and perhaps telling of this election. Read More »
20002: No Voting Issue
The poll workers were doing a great job and should be recognized. They were processing a lot a people in a reasonable amount of time given the turnout. Read More »

Wonderful experience. As a naturalized citizen. This as always is a proud moment for me. I appreciate that the voting system is in spanish and english. It doesn't need to be, but it's nice to see that the spanish language is considered part of the US experience. Thank you to everyone! Read More »

I had requested an absentee ballot. I sent an application form on the last day. I did not receive it in the mail by November 3rd. So, I voted by Special Ballot at Judiciary Square. I was told to return the unopened absentee ballot whenever it arrived. However, it still has not arrived on November 4th. I hope that my vote will count. Read More »

20009: No Voting Issue
All was well in D.C. Precinct 14. It took me about 20 minutes from queuing up to scanning my ballot. I arrived at 8:15 a.m., though, and heard it was a mess only 45 minutes prior. Read More »

I enjoyed the privacy of a booth while filling out my paper ballot, but I felt a palpable (and disturbing) lack of privacy when actually CASTING my vote. Apparently, my paper ballot had to be scanned into a machine, face-side up, in the middle of a crowded room. The scanner processed my ballot slowly, with my votes in plain sight of volunteers and fellow voters. So much for privacy. Read More »
20003: Identification Issue
I voted at Hine Junior High School. I stated my name and was not asked for ID or my voter registration card. Any female who knows my name and for whom I'd vote (and most people do know for whom I'd vote) could 've voted using my name. Read More »
20007: No Voting Issue

20016: No Voting Issue
There were about 2 other voters there at the same time so voting was a breeze. Process was smooth. Poll workers were great. However, I was very emotional. I imagine that this election was some of what MLK had a dream of. Read More »
20008: Identification Issue
I was never asked for my ID or any identifying questions. It appeared to be a pattern for everyone in line. Read More »

Voted at Tyler School in SE. Arrived about 7:10, left about an hour later. Wife arrived with me, left within 10 minutes. Why? Because her last name starts with W, mine with B. Some genius decided to split us into four groups by splitting the alphabet into four equal groups, rather than splitting the actual voter rolls into four equal groups. M-S group was even more of a nightmare than my A-F group. T-Z had no one in line. Read More »

Fantastic. No line at all. Went at 9:30 a.m. because my kid got sick and I could not go when the polls opened. My husband went earlier (around 8 a.m.) but still only had to wait in line for about 40 minutes. Voter staff was great. Very helpful, friendly, and informative. All ran smoothly. Go D.C.! Read More »

20019: No Voting Issue
Things went very smoothly this morning. The poll workers had things moving fast enough that the line, while long, got neither longer nor shorter. There were more (and younger) poll workers than i'd ever seen before. There was a great community feeling among the voters in line, too. People in my precinct were definitely voting overwhelmingly for Obama, and there was a great sense of hope that history was going to be made today. May it be so! Read More »
