In New York, we still use the "old fashioned" mechanical voting machines. Reliable, functional, solid, non-controversial. And the poll workers are friendly, polite, helpful. As always, voting was a purely easy & pleasurable activity in New York. Turn out has been pretty high, probably in the 70-80% range. I checked NY's State BoE site and it said I was registered. However, I was not on the rolls. I had to fill out what they called an "affidavit ballot". Not a huge deal, I guess, but I was really looking forward to pulling levers. Read More »

I changed my registration to reflect my new address and I received a new voter registration card. However, when I got to the polling place I wasn't listed in their book. I had to vote by affidavit ballot. A lady next to me in line had the same problem. Read More »
