Duckworth's geographic history bears a strong resemblence to Obama's. Born in Thailand, Duckworth attended the University of Hawaii before moving to Illinois. She is best known as a seriously-injured Iraq war veteran who ran for a vacant seat in the House of Representatives on a pledge to bring U.S. troops home.
