Bio

As deputy chief of staff for Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell (D), Kienitz directed a number of transportation and alternative energy initiatives. Prior to his time in Pennsylvania, Kienitz was secretary of the Maryland Department of Planning where he implemented the state’s Smart Growth policies. Kienitz also served as the executive director for the Surface Transportation Policy Project and worked for former Sen. Daniel Moynihan (D-N.Y.) on the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee.
