Kerns), a Representative from Indiana; born in Covington, Fountain County, Ind., February 8, 1927; graduated from Covington High School, Covington, Ind., 1945; B.S., Indiana State University, Terre Haute, Ind., 1951; United States Army, 1945-1946; cashier and trust officer with The Fountain Trust Co., Covington, Ind., 1952-1966; farmer, Fountain County, Ind.; elected as a Republican to the Ninetieth and to the fourteen succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1967-January 3, 1997); was not a candidate for reelection to the One Hundred Fifth Congress in 1996.
