On the Issues

What is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?

Fairfax public schools must regain the confidence of the public at large and the Board of Supervisors as a responsive, self-critical, accountable and forward-looking institution in our community. Both the School Board and Superintendent Jack Dale's successor must meet the requirements of candor, openness and transparency that are rightly demanded by Fairfax citizens. In keeping with this goal, I believe the hiring of a full-time auditor who reports directly to the school board would help provide independent fiscal oversight of our funding; provide greater independence between the school board and superintendent; and foster greater accountability and transparency with the community.

Why should voters elect you?

I have a proven history of fostering constructive relationships, being an open-minded listener, focusing on pragmatic and reasoned solutions, and advocating for our schools.
