On the Issues

What is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?

Sustain the excellence of our schools while staying within budget. 1. Reduce class sizes, especially in core subjects. 2. Retain excellent, properly compensated staff. 3. Engage all stakeholders, not just special-interest groups, when addressing emerging issues. 4. Return power to the community, including a voice in boundary studies and facility plans, and give local communities more choice to decide the programs that work best in their local schools. 5. Establish, monitor and revise fair and clear policies and emphasize mastery of English and math. 6. Keep School Board attention on the budget, including restoration of the independent auditor position.

Why should voters elect you?

My broad professional experience, educational background, extensive and varied community involvement and commitment to truly listen to the community I seek to serve.
