On the Issues

What is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?

We don't have an independent efficiency review of the $2.2 billion budget. Also, though we have incredibly dedicated teachers, their morale is low since their pay was frozen (until this year's insufficient raise) and administrative demands have increased. Families want their community schools to be protected and have expressed frustration with frequent redistricting without independent review of student projection numbers. The achievement gap is also a vital issue in the Hunter Mill District that I have plans to address. I will be a voice for parents, teachers and taxpayers on the school board.

Why should voters elect you?

I have devoted myself to serving the community as PTA president and a licensed professional counselor helping young people and restoring communication for 15 years.
