On the Issues

What is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?

Our world is changing, and we must develop a vision for the Fairfax County public schools of the future at a time when the school system and board are facing a significant transition. I continue to advocate for a strategic plan to address how Fairfax County public schools will allow children to achieve their potential and prepare them for a bright future, within a context of more diverse needs, unstable funding, increasing enrollment, deteriorating infrastructure and legislative/policy barriers to student achievement. Our strategic planning, policy priorities and decision making must be data driven and reflect the participation and perspective of all stakeholders.

Why should voters elect you?

I am an incumbent board member and a vocal advocate for constructive change. I am running unopposed for reelection.
