On the Issues

What is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?

With an $800 million renovations backlog and no cogent plan to protect the taxpayers' investment in our facilities, we should incorporate architecture planning and private-sector money to help renovate our older schools, which also creates jobs. As a vocal advocate for a School Board independent audit function, with nearly 54 percent of Fairfax County's budget going to Fairfax County public schools (75 percent of residents do not have children in our public schools), involving independent programmatic and financial review will assist us in directing the maximum resources to the classroom. This will demonstrate we value our children's education and our teachers.

Why should voters elect you?

As a tireless supporter of reforming education, parental involvement and pursuing transparency and accountability for our taxpayers, I offer proven leadership to authentically represent constituents.
