On the Issues

What is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?

The educational issues in Loudoun County are intertwined. Sound, long-range planning is required to accommodate increasing student enrollment. Critical analysis of the budget is necessary to eliminate administrative waste and ineffective programs to fund effective teaching programs and technologies, performance incentives and full-day kindergarten. The process and budget must be transparent and easy to understand. Parents and taxpayers should have more opportunities to voice their opinions on the educational choices of the public schools. And, robust educational options need to be available to parents. The competition will promote better education and help ease rising enrollment.

Why should voters elect you?

I will challenge the status quo, ask tough questions and seek to engage parents, taxpayers and teachers to resolve problems.
