On the Issues

What is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?

The most urgent problem for LCPS is the lack of new schools for the growing student population. Three of our 12 high schools are operating above 100 percent of their capacity. Two of our middle schools are also over capacity, and seven elementary schools in the Ashburn-Dulles North area are overcrowded. Because of budget and staff cuts, there are many classrooms throughout the system serving more than 30 students. This is not acceptable for the students, the teachers or the families. We need to revisit the average class size and find a way to fund more teachers.

Why should voters elect you?

Over my eight years of service to Loudoun's children, I have proven to be responsive, responsible and always ready to work hard on their behalf.
