What is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?
Given the economic climate, public education cannot expect to see significant new resources added in the near future. We must focus on getting the maximum value from the resources we have. We need to use performance measures to evaluate all programs and keep only those that are most effective. We need to leverage technology for savings in all areas. We need to lobby aggressively to get out from under the unfunded and often unrealistic mandates handed down from Washington and Richmond. Local control of education needs to be a reality, not a sound bite.

I'm a team player with a record of getting things done. My 10 years of experience will be vital in the years ahead.
