On the Issues

What is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?

One of my top concerns is public safety. Although our crime rates are down, our county has only 567 police officers but should have 801 based upon the standards of two sworn officers per 1,000 residents. In my district, there are only two fire stations that have the responsibility to provide first response to fire and basic life support within four minutes and advanced life support within eight minutes. I experienced firsthand how stretched these folks are, and if this deficit is allowed to continue, the situation will only get worse as the county continues to grow.

Why should voters elect you?

I have served my country in both peace time and wartime. My engineering discipline and experience is something desperately needed in the political world.
