On the Issues

What is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?

Located in the center of the county, Providence has arterioles that carry hundreds of thousands of vehicles per day. Transportation is our most urgent issue. We need to add capacity to the road system by finishing state projects such as the one at Gallows Road/Lee Highway and the Beltway HOT lanes and by connecting street grid in places such as Tysons and Merrifield. Completing Dulles Rail, improving bus service and building more pedestrian and biking facilities will give commuters options to driving. Finally working on spot improvements such as the addition of turn lanes at intersections will help congestion.

Why should voters elect you?

As Providence supervisor since 2004, I have a record of working with the community and the experience to meet the ongoing challenges of our district.
