On the Issues

What is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?

Two problems stand out: 1. Continuing to build the schools and other facilities necessary for a rapidly growing population while maintaining our debt cap, AAA bond rating and a reasonable tax burden. In the past decade about 143,000 people have moved into Loudoun. Over this period, we have added an average of over 3,000 new students in the school system each year. That trend is predicted to continue and will put upward pressure on homeowners' tax bills. 2. If we go into a double-dip recession, managing the county's finances so that we remain fiscally stable and strong.

Why should voters elect you?

I believe the kind of in-depth education, knowledge and hands-on experience I possess will be vital in leading the county through these difficult economic times.
