On the Issues

What is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?

Jobs and the economy. CNNMoney recently ranked Prince William County as No. 13 nationally in job growth. We have become the ninth wealthiest county in America and were just upgraded to AAA bond rating status by S&P. We have accomplished this by streamlining business regulations, reducing overall county spending and taxes and focusing county spending on schools, roads, police and fire and rescue. But we will continue to work aggressively to bring new high-paying jobs to our area. Job growth reduces the tax burden on homeowners and helps alleviate transportation gridlock by allowing people to work closer to home.

Why should voters elect you?

As chairman, I have a proven record of creating jobs, keeping taxes low, reducing crime and focusing spending on schools, roads and public safety.
