On the Issues

What is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?

People do not feel heard. As chairman, I will work with people across political lines to build a culture of listening and instill confidence. Within this framework, we will create effective solutions to the challenges confronting our community. Identifying the most urgent problem depends on whom you ask. For example, public safety advocates say Fairfax County needs to properly staff ladder trucks with at least four firefighters. The incumbent chairman has us standing alone as our nation's only large locality failing to meet this standard. We are accountable to our community as an integral component of our national capital region.

Why should voters elect you?

I am an experienced advocate for accessible, accountable government bringing solutions to our challenges in education, public safety, transportation and important quality-of-life services.
