On the Issues
What is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?
The 35th District includes Tysons Corner, so all of the traffic and construction resulting from its expansion, as well as the Metro to Dulles and HOT lanes projects, impact the daily lives of our residents in Vienna, Dunn Loring, Oakton and Fairfax. That is why it is critical to find long-term, comprehensive, sustainable transportation solutions that include mass transit and bike options beyond building more roads. While our local unemployment rate is lower than average, we do see vacant offices and commercial property as well as foreclosures. We need to create more local jobs and turn the economy around.
Why should voters elect you?
In my first term as delegate (and in the minority party), I achieved effective results by putting aside politics and focusing on getting things done.
