On the Issues

What is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?

Virginia must work to become more economically competitive. We cannot meet our basic transportation funding needs; we do not adequately fund Virginia's public school system; we have too many uninsured and under-insured; and we are not investing enough in renewable energy like wind and solar. Adequate investments in these areas will create a climate that would be the envy of the nation through substantial job creation and permanent economic growth and prosperity. However, the further we get behind puts us at an economic disadvantage. Making these investments now, will grow our economy and make us competitive for generations.

Why should voters elect you?

I have a record of working to move forward an agenda of better public schools, a cleaner environment, high-quality health care, and more transportation options.
