On the Issues

What is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?

In discussing issues with constituents, other than the economy, the single biggest concern I hear is transportation. The 2011 General Assembly adopted a transportation plan with $3.3 billion of funds in it, which is the largest infusion of funds since 1986. This must be the first step in a comprehensive plan to provide additional funds for both new construction and maintenance. Our solution must be multifaceted, with both roads and transit playing an important part. Non-structural solutions include telework, revised workweeks and workdays to reduce the peak demands.

Why should voters elect you?

I have substantial experience, and I have been recognized for my leadership and effectiveness by many different groups.
