On the Issues
What is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?
Public safety remains the No. 1 priority in our jurisdiction. Successful investigation of violent crimes, such as those involving gang-related incidents, results in more trials. All the parties in these cases eventually come together at the courthouse. Victims, witnesses and defendants merge in a small area that becomes charged with emotions. The sheriff's office must continue to work seamlessly with the police, the Adult Detention Center staff and the prosecutors, focusing on its mission to remain vigilant in protecting those individuals who must do business at the courthouse.
Why should voters elect you?
I have kept the promises I made and want to continue to focus on our mission while being a part of the public-safety system.
