On the Issues

What is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?

The biggest issue facing the community is out-of-control spending, which is jeopardizing our economic future. From taxes and spending to jobs and growth, I believe strongly the solutions to our challenges are rooted in conservative principles. We need a senator who doesn't just talk like a conservative but has a proven record of getting conservative results. I have that record. On taxes: I stood up to my own party and voted against this year's county budget because it raised taxes. On spending: On the board, I worked to cut $143 million, or 16%, from the county budget.

Why should voters elect you?

I share your conservative values. I am 100 percent against abortions, believe in lower taxes and reduced spending and will work to check runaway growth.
