On the Issues

What is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?

The most urgent issue facing Northern Virginia is maintaining our quality of life despite growing challenges related to traffic, the environment and the efforts of Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli to undermine the civil liberties of women, minorities and LGBT Virginians. In the Senate, I will build on my record of success in these and other critical areas: relieving traffic by expanding access to transit and widening Route 1 and extending the Yellow Metro Line in Fairfax; increasing public school funding; protecting our waterways from pollution caused by throwaway grocery bags; and fighting Cuccinelli's extremist agenda.

Why should voters elect you?

Northern Virginians need a state senator with the experience and established relationships my service in the General Assembly has provided.
