On the Issues

What is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?

Traffic congestion is the most urgent problem. It is critical to better link transportation funding with land-use planning that encourages "smart growth" and transit options. An increase in the gasoline tax could be dedicated to new transportation projects. The state must evaluate multi-modal options, such as rapid bus transit, metro and HOV opportunities, for all road projects. We must strive to move the most number of people with the fewest number of cars. This would enable the region to continue to flourish as a job center while providing residents with cleaner air and a higher quality of life.

Why should voters elect you?

We have created first-class schools and an economically vibrant community. I am well qualified to make the state a stronger partner in future successes.
